Dessert Heaven in Illovo!

It’s that beautiful time of the year, when there is tinsel everywhere, bright lights and merriment all around. It’s also a little extra special, because our boss is on leave which gives us girls some time to go out for a quick coffee or lunch every few days. Today we went to this quaint little café called La Patisserie which is in the Illovo Post Office complex.

Steelworks with a Twist

It’s been a year of two summers. Sweating it out in good ol’ Delhi and well, the unpredictable shuffling between sweating and freezing in Joburg. Not that I am complaining, I’m not a big fan of Delhi summers. But at least I know what to expect. My wardrobe consisting of only cotton whites, my AC temperature being permanently set at ‘LOW’ and my social life being restricted to late evenings is something I have gotten used to.

In this respect, Delhi behaves like your grandparents, predictable, boring but altogether super lovable. Joburg, on the other hand is like your girlfriend going through PMS. Blows hot and cold without any warning! So after all the hail and thunder last weekend, this extended weekend decided to be sunny and hot.

Little furry balls of love

I miss my little baby, my best friend and the only creature that I have ever loved without question. My dog- Fiku. She was a mix breed between a Lhasa-apso and a Sphinx. Given that all her siblings from the litter passed away within 6 months -2 years from their birth, Fiku gave us a happy 11 years!

Finding my soul-mate at the Lion Park!

M (my-then-boyfriend-now-husband) had moved to Johannesburg in September 2011 leaving me all alone and sad in Delhi. The ‘career’ demands of the new age couple! 😦  Unfortunately (or now in hindsight, fortunately) for me, he fell IN LOVE with the city far too quickly for my liking. No later than 2 months of being in Joburg, he decided that we should both live in Joburg for a few years atleast.

A ‘Red Carpet’ Premier of The Hobbit in Joburg

So as a part of trying to be a part of new experiences in Joburg, I have been religiously participating in all the competitions and promotions hoping to win something! Considering I have never ever won any luck-based competition in my life, I didn’t have much hope. But what do you know? I won two tickets for a paid premier of “The Hobbit” to be screened in Montecasino.
